Harmony – The Dylan Thomas International Glass Award

Architectural and stained glass artists from across the world created new works inspired by the word ‘harmony’ with a selection shown in Swansea’s  National Waterfont Museum and in the home of the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff, Y Senedd. The exhibition was curated by Swansea School of Glass, University of Wales Trinity St David’s and supported by the British Society of Master Glass Painters.

Dylan Thomas' richly textured poetry is deeply immersive and often provokes, in me, a response both melancholic and joyous in equal measure. My piece. ‘In Joy and Melancholy’ references themes and imagery found in Thomas' work and seeks to express this sense of being simultaneously compelled and unsettled via the suggestion of unresolved storytelling.
